Natural Ecosystems & Functions – Work Package 4
WP 4 investigates how different land-use management practices can be linked to maintain biodiversity without jeopardising the livelihood of the local population. The basis for this is a sustainable use of the natural ressources. For this purpose WP 4 evaluates together with local and regional stakeholders the sustainable use and valorisation of forest resources as well as the function of the forest as a carbon reservoir. Furthermore, so far neglected flagship animal and plant species will be investigated for their potential to serve as tourist attraction.
